Richmond schools closed Monday; Mayor declares state of emergency

Public schools in Richmond, Henrico, Chesterfield and Hanover will be closed Monday in anticipation of overnight snow.

All municipal offices will also close, including Monday's previously scheduled City Council meetings in Richmond.

Richmond Mayor Danny Avula has declared a state of emergency. The City's Inclement Weather Shelter, at 1900 Chamberlayne Avenue, began continuous operations on Friday and will operate through at least Wednesday.
