Richmond floodwall closes for the first time since 2020

Richmond closed the Dock Street floodwall on Monday as a result of heavy rainfall, to prevent against flooding.

Dock Street will be closed between 17th and 21st street in Shockoe Bottom.

This marks the first time since 2020 that the floodwall has been closed for a water event — the floodwalls are closed annually for testing and maintenance.
