Richmond International Airport will consolidate from two TSA screening areas to one thanks to a $2.25 million government grant.
Representatives Jennifer McClellan, Abigail Spanberger and Rob Wittman announced the grant from the Federal Aviation Administration on Wednesday.
“We must ensure we modernize and upgrade existing infrastructure to support current and future needs," McClellan said in a press release. "I’m thrilled by today’s funding announcement to build a new consolidated passenger screening checkpoint, which will increase capacity and efficiency.”
Currently the airport's two terminals have separate passenger screening areas.
