Richmond and Henrico police are investigating reports of vandalism that occurred at 18 locations, largely along Broad Street, this weekend.
These vandalisms are suspected to have been caused by BB pellets, according to Richmond Police, who added that it is unknown if the incidents are related. Many of the incidents involved store windows being shot out, causing thousands of dollars in damage.
"For those business owners and merchants who do business along the corridor, these folks come to work every day with a payroll, trying to make ends meet by selling their merchandise or just doing business," Mayor Levar Stoney said at a press conference. "They shouldn't have to deal with stupid teenagers doing stupid things."
Four of the sites are in Henrico, with the other 14 in Richmond City.
